Virtual Reality

About this course

Virtual Reality is an application field of the interaction between humans and technology. Participants will be enabled to the subject Computer Graphics to the application field of Virtual Reality and create hardware specific configurations.

Expected learning outcomes

LO1: Students know the important properties of human perception and the concrete challenges in
generating perceptual stimuli (image, sound) in VR environments.
LO2: Students are familiar with the various hardware concepts in the area of display and interaction
and can select suitable software components for simple tasks.
LO3: Students know software concepts and specific algorithms that are important in the field of
virtual reality (Especially stereo image generation, LODs, object motion simulation)
LO4: Students are able to implement and apply programmatically the learned software concepts and
specific algorithms that are important in the field of virtual reality (especially stereo image
generation, LODs)
LO5: The students know the software packages and are able to create first, simple extensions
