Corporate Social Responsibility – IPP
About this course
This course emphasis that firms must be concerned with internal and external impact of their business. The course will cover a number of topics regarding Corporate Social Responsibility in order to provide students with knowledge and skills to enhance firms’ strategy towards sustainability. Therefore, this allows students to understand the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility, Accounting and Strategic Management.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of this course students are expected to meet the following learning objectives: 1. To understand the critical role of Corporate Social Responsibility in developing a business strategy. 2. to identify a number of stakeholders that should be taken into account by firms and to know metrics to assess stakeholders’ satisfaction. 3. To be aware of the role of sustainable business and the interaction between economic, environmental and social components of a business. 4. To know some fundamental accounting concepts and technics to obtain a firm’s financial position and its economic performance. 5. To analyse how Corporate Social Responsibility may enhance the quality of reported earnings. 6. To be able of communicating and working in a team.

1. Concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Stakeholders 2. Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Management Systems 3. CSR implementation 4. Corporate Sustainability Strategies; Sustainable Consumption; Consumption and CSR issues 5. Accounting for CSR and Financial Information 6. CSR, Ethical Behaviour and Earnings Quality
